Denmark: Kakeeto, Opondo 2019/20 season statistics

The Danish Premier League 2019/20 season came to an end close to three weeks back with Midtjylland emerging champions.

There are two Ugandan players plying their trade in the same league in Robert Kakeeto and Moses Opondo who turn up for Aalborg BK and Odense Brondby respectively.

Robert Kakeeto.

Not the best start of the season he had as he struggled to find playing time and even making the match day squad but after football taking a break world over due to the pandemic Covid-19, it was a blessing in disguise for the Ugandan International as he used the around three months period to tirelessly work hard and when the league returned, he was ready to compete with the the big boys.

The defensive midfielder became a regular in the Aalborg BK team guiding them to the DBU Pokalen finals in which they shockingly lost 2-0 to Sonderjyske.

The season was also his best since leaving Uganda in 2015 as he made 12 league appearances raking 793 minutes with one yellow card to his name.

Aalborg in the regular season finished in 6th place on 38 points from 26 games before finally finishing 5th from 36 games on 54 points after the Championship round.

Moses Opondo.

A learning maiden season it was for the offensive midfielder at Odense Brondby.

The 22 year old managed 26 games from both regular and relegation round season accumulating 1235 minutes with one goal and two bookings to his name.

Odense finished in 9th place on 33 points from 26 games in the regular season before cementing first place from four teams in group 1 tallying to 43 points from 32 games.
