Edrine Lubulwa: My best XI of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League first round

The first round of the Uganda premier league 2021/2022 season came down on 9 January 2022 with 217 games played. The 16 league clubs have scored a total of 417goals in the first round .

The first around has had quite a number of players that have put out good performances for themselves and theirrespective clubs in the 15 Match games played.

Edrine Lubulwa, Bigwhales sports reporter breaks down the outstanding players of the first around.

Simon Tamale ( Soltilo Bright Stars FC)

The shot stopper has been a key player for the solotilo Bright stars and on many occasions he stood out even when his side was down.

Simon has rebranded him self as a penaltystopper and this season he has

saved three penalties and won Three plisner man of the match accolades .

Innocent Wafula( KCCA FC ).

Wafula has set the bar so high for the rest of the competitors, he is one of the most consistent performers in KCCA FC team and was at it again through the first round as he put up several outstanding displays.

He managed to score one and assisted twice.

Hassan Musana (Gaddafi FC)

The left back has been involved in 8 goals for the club in the first around, scoring 4 and assisting 4 times.

The former KCCA FC has had a brilliant start at the newbies without a doubt.

Najib Fesali ( URA FC)

Fessali is one of the fast improving defenders in the league and he has been tremendous for the tax collectors, his fast game reading the game and intelligence have been impressive. On top of defending well he also gets some time to scores goals.

Livingstone Mulondo (Vipers SC)

He has been a pivotal in the Venoms back line playing along side Bashir Asiku and Halid Lwaliwaone of the best performers in his position in Uganda premier league first round.

Ashraf Mugume (Kcca FC)

Ashraf has been consistent in his performances for the club. He has led by example and he is amongst the reasons why the kasasiro boys are table leads with 31 points.

The intelligent midfielder has 3 goals so far.

Bobosi Byaruhanga (Vipers SC )

A box to box player who literally has been decent.

The reigning Airtel Fufa player of the year has been consistent in the league and the national team bad has made his name for scoring long range screamers in the league.

Milton Karisa (Vipers SC)

You may see him silent on the pitch but he gives rythm to the team going forward. Karisa has 4 goalS and 4 assists to his name in the first round. The versatile forward is a joy to watch when he has the ball.

Caesar Manzoki (Vipers SC)

Eight goals to his name, The Congolese striker has been largely important for Viper SC and best performer so far this season.

Ball control, position awareness and getting involved the game are some of the attributes that make him special.

Musa Esenu ( BUL FC)

You can’t name the best forwards in the first round and leave out Musa Esenu .The Jinja based side has been a surprise package to many of us . The former Kcca fc playerhas managed 8 goals in the first round.

Cromwell Rwothomio Abang ( URA FC)

The fast and tricky forward has continued to develop and with no doubt, he is the unbeatable forward winger in the league currently.

Even in the games where ura fc lost Cromwell always stood out, he has scored 7goals and one assist so far..

Coach: Alex Isabirye (BUL FC)

The BUL FC gaffer has managed bring smiles back to many club fans’. The Jinja giants have won a number of games, lost only three game in the first half of the league and have drawn six games.

They are third on log of the Uganda premier league table after the break of the season.
