Former Victors FC and UPDF officer Brigadier Jackson Tushabe Bell has passed on according to reports.
The Col. as his rank was during his football administrative days breathed his last at Nakasero Hospital in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. It is not yet clear what he succumbed to but he had been recently hospitalized.
Bell who was boss at the now defunct Victors FC between 2005 and 2013 when the team got relegated and eventually collapsed due to his ailment was a passionate football administrator who loved to see success in his team and could do anything financially in his means to ensure stability.
Bell also worked at FUFA at one point under the reign of Dr. Lawrence Mulindwa as Vice President in charge of competitions before tendering in his resignation due to health problems in 2011 and was replaced by Issa Magola and he was also Chairman Super division clubs association as well as Chairman Fufa Competitions committee between 2005- 2009.
While at Victors as the top dog, they won the Uganda cup twice in 2008 beating Kinyara 1-0 and two years later in 2010 prevailing over army side Simba FC 5-4 via a penalty shoot out after a 1-1 draw in regulation time.
He also participated in the five year bush war that brought President Yoweri Museveni to power in 1986 and previously served as UPDF 4th Division commander.
In 2019, he was among officers promoted after his elevation from the rank of Lt Col to Brigadier.
