The situation at Uganda Premier League Champions Vipers SC is not that well as they are working around the clock to see inspirational skipper Halid Lwaliwa renew his stay at the club.
With the transfer system at FUFA reportedly closing in a few days from now, the Venoms are doing all they can to ensure they convince the intelligent defender to stay with a few months left on his current contract which he renewed in 2018.
In April this year, reports indicated that both parties were on the verge of agreeing on contract renewal but the situation was made difficult due to the pandemic covid 19.
Further reports also indicate that Lwaliwa’s representatives had plans of finding him a club in the diaspora, another reason that made it longer for him to renew his marriage with the Kitende based side.
Lwaliwa is one of Vipers’ long-standing servants, and was named as the club’s captain at the start of the previous season following the transfer of former skipper Taddeo Lwanga to Egyptian side Tanta FC.
