Ugandan players in Diaspora: Opondo strikes late in Odense stalemate, Nalukenge, Luwagga set for debuts

It was yet again another weekend full of action of a number of Ugandan female and male footballers in the diaspora over the weekend with more to play on Monday and Tuesday.

As usual Ronnie Lusulire kept close tabs on them to find out who was in and who was out.


Combative midfielder Moses Opondo came on in the 78th minute for Sabbi and levelled matters late in the 90th minute off a Frokjaer assist as his Odense FC drew 2-2 at Aarhus in the Premier League.

Robert Kakeeto wasn’t in the match day squad as his Aalborg FC side beat Nordsjaelland 2-1 at home.

Isaac Muleme played full time as his Zizkov side lost 3-0 at Vlasim in the second tier league.


Ronald Mukiibi wasn’t in the match day squad while Isak Ssewankambo played full time as their Ostersunds FK side lost 3-0 at Norrkoping in the Allsvenskun.

Forward Alexis Bbakka started before coming off in the 46th minute for Kamf as his Umea FC drew 2-2 at home against Sylvia in the Div 1 (Third tier league).

Jordan Obita played full time as his Wycombe Wanderers lost 3-1 at Sunderland in the League One.


Bayo Fahad played full time while Timothy Awany went off in the 77th minute for Sisai as their Ashdod FC side lost 2-1 at Hapoel Tel Aviv on match day one.

Another Ugandan William Kizito Luwagga is set to make his debut at newly promoted side Nof Hagali FC today (Monday) as they host Hapoel Jerusalem.


Bevis Mugabi played full time at right back as his 10-man Motherwell FC pipped Dundee 1-0 at home in the Scottish Premier League.
